Daikon

Daikon is from the radish family that has a long white root, native to southeast and southern Asia. Its name changes throughout Asia from India to Singapore, as does its uses in the culinary world from pickles to turnip cake, to soups and wet dishes. In Japan the leaves are frequently eaten as a green vegetable.
